The paintings are 100% original and done by hand. I don't print on a canvas and then apply the paint. The process is as follows:
1. Please e-mail me a photo or call for a sitting. We will discuss your painting; where it will be located, the colors that you want, and the style.
2. I can crop a photograph, so that it will resemble the final painting. I'll send you a copy for your approval.
3. After the photograph is approved, I'll draw the painting on linen or canvas by hand with pencil.
4. For portraits, I will use raw umber or gray and paint an "underpainting" which highlights the light and dark sections of the painting. For landscapes, I will use more texture and visible brush strokes defining the light and dark areas.
5. If painting a portrait, I will glaze thin layers of oil paint over the skin.
6. I will complete the rest of the painting by using the underpainting as a guide.
7. I'll make sure you're delighted!
